Responsibilities:
? Plan, conduct, and evaluate the goals, policies, and activities designed to implement the Health and Dental objectives as defined in the Performance Standards.
? Develop and maintain arrangements with community health agencies for provision of health services to Early Head Start / Head Start children such as: medical examinations, dental examinations, screenings, follow-ups and nutrition assessments.
? Oversee vision, speech, hearing and medical screenings as required.
? Monitor completion of tasks and data collection to meet Head Start Standards, Child Care Licensing requirements and State Health Requirements.
? Follow and provide guidance for all contacts made to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services for any suspected child abuse or neglect cases.
? Work cooperatively with other Early Head Start/Head Start staff to screen, identify, and refer children with special needs for diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
? Oversee and monitor emergency medical care, safety and sanitation measures for all children and staff.
? Provide and coordinate for the maintenance of individual health records; submit appropriate reports on health and nutrition services to the Head Start Director (monthly reports, PIR).
? Provide and coordinate a health and nutrition education program for staff, children, and parents.
? Work cooperatively with other content area coordinators for the provision of mental health services to children and parents.
? Facilitate activities of the Health Advisory Committee.
? Order and maintain health / nutrition supplies and equipment.
? Monitor accuracy & timeliness of medical, dental, and immunization data for children served in Early Head Start/Head Start Programs.
? Track and record in-kind contributions with respect to those provided by the medical and dental providers.
? Oversee, support and coordinate program activities for Health Services Specialists.
? Develop content area specific plans and supporting budget.
? Participate as a part of Head Start management team, providing input and support for the overall Head Start programs.
? Maintain ongoing working relationship with licensed/certified health to provide consultation or services as needs arise.
? Other related duties as assigned
Salary : $36,100 - $45,700
