Base Salary: $67,315.60
*Certification Pay Eligible up to $1,200 per year
The City of Highland Village is currently looking for a certified Firefighter Paramedic who will strive to provide the highest level of professional service to our residents. The City of Highland Village is a vibrant, family oriented community in southern Denton County with a population of about 17,000 people.
Duties of a Firefighter Paramedic include responding to medical, fire, and other related emergencies within Highland Village and the surrounding communities, enforcing and complying with department, county, and state requirements, participating in citizen programs, and ensuring records are maintained appropriately.
Firefighter Paramedic must have:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Possess a valid Texas Driver's License
- Good Driving Record
- DSHS Paramedic Certification or National Registry Paramedic
- TCFP Commissioned Firefighter

* Firefighter/Paramedics are scheduled for 48 hours on and 96 hours off. There are 4 or 5 shifts per 28-day cycle with 13 cycles per year. Each cycle includes an average of 14 scheduled overtime hours. All hours worked beyond 212 hours in the 28-day cycle is overtime. Actual overtime is not a guarantee and depends upon several factors, including how the shifts fall in the 28-day cycle and minimum staffing requirements.
