Clean the interior/exterior of the shelter by moving animals and cleaning and disinfecting the cages and kennel areasInteract with animals to determine suitability for adoptionsMedicate injured animal according to veterinarian's instructionsComplete vaccinations, de-worming, ear cleaning, bathing and medicating minor abrasions of animalsCommunicate observed animal behaviors and demeanor with the public to coordinate animal adoptionsExplain shelter guidelines and State requirements for adoptionsComplete required paperwork for animals being reclaimed by ownersComplete various paperwork including impound paperwork, impound cards, quarantine observations sheets, adoptions paperwork and rabies agreementsPerform all other related duties as assigned

Tasks involve the ability to exert light to medium physical effort lifting at least 50 lbs. The position requires constant walking. Some tasks frequently involve sitting, carrying, crouching, bending, stooping, kneeling on both knees, pushing/pulling and be able to tolerate cleaning chemicals, animal dander and hair. Occasionally fixed dexterity, reaching, handling and climbing is required.
