HOURS WORKED: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm

SALARY & GRADE: Grade 9, Wage dependent upon experience
PRIMARY DUTIES
Under the supervision of the Business Coordinator, this multi-faceted position is responsible for performing tasks in accordance with the City and Department policies and procedures and CALEA standards. The primary function as the Payroll/Data Analyst is to administer the Nashua Police Department’s payroll, utilizing Lawson, Telestaff and Workforce/Kronos which includes assisting in the administration of numerous CBA benefits; reviewing payroll for errors prior to deadlines; preparing various Excel monthly and annual reports/database; processing time off requests; leave accrual reconciliations, FMLA leave and military leave processing and other time and attendance requirement to include resolving queries. The role also includes support to Purchasing/Accounts, Payable/Benefits and Billing/Inventory/Grant Financial Management functions. This position is fast-paced in a fluid environment, requiring multi-tasking, triaging and prioritizing assignments. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package, to include medical, dental, vision benefits at a minimal cost to the employee.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a high school diploma (business/accounting college courses) or certified equivalency. Must possess three to five (3-5) years business/accounting or a combined aggregate or related training, experience and education. Must have excellent clerical skills (to include computer proficiency), oral/human relations skills and organizational skills. Must be able to pass a background investigation and criminal history check due to the confidentiality required in the position. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, MS Professional Suite or higher (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint). Must successfully complete minimum 6-month probationary period (up to a year).
