What are the responsibilities and job description for the Afterschool Leader position at City of Rockville?
Responsible for the planning and implementation of specific recreation activities in the afterschool program. Â Duties include but are not limited to, planning and leading sports, crafts or other specialized activities; maintaining a clean and organized workspace; engaging in both indoor and outdoor activities; and assisting the site director with forms, paperwork and parent correspondence as necessary; accompany and/or transport children on off-site field trips as scheduled; attend staff and programming meetings as scheduled and keep current necessary credentials and trainings as required by MSDE Office of Child Care
Position Hours
3:30 - 6:30 pm, Monday - Friday, everyday that MCPS is in session. 1:00 - 6:30 pm on MCPS Early Release Days.QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
 Skills in general recreation programs, and some knowledge of specific activities as related to the position. Ability to complete a medical examination within 30 days of hire. good communication skills; ability to exercise independent judgment; CPR, First Aid and AED may be required (training is available and free of cost if needed). Valid Maryland driver's license preferred.
Experience
 Experience working with children in a recreational setting.  Knowledge of sports and games, and some implementation required.
EDUCATION
 High school graduate and/or at least 18 years of age.  Child Development class preferred.
