Performs advanced level work to operate, maintain, repair, adjust, and regulate all power units, machinery, accessories, and equipment in refrigeration plants, heating systems, air conditioning systems, and sprinkler systems. Performs extensive preventive maintenance, including cleaning, repairing, and calibrating equipment. Performs related duties and responsibilities as required.
The current vacancy is located at 1100 North Hamline Avenue. The hired candidate will be expected to work Tuesday to Saturday from 3:30 PM - 11:30 PM.
Typical Duties of the Position:

Five years of experience operating, maintaining, and repairing power units, machinery, and accessories in the areas of air conditioning, refrigeration, boilers, erecting and installing of refrigeration machinery and heating systems.
** If you hold a Second Class C Boiler license, you must be eligible to take the First Class C Boiler exam and obtain the license within fifteen months of appointment. Failure to obtain and/or maintain First Class C Boiler License will result in termination.

Typical Duties of the Position:
- Installs, maintains, repairs, and tests power units, HVAC, steam and hot water boilers, air compressors, generators, bodies of water including swimming pools, splash pads, display fountains, and animal life support.
- Performs regular and preventative maintenance and repair of equipment as well as greasing bearings, changing belts, and air filters related to HVAC systems, body of water systems.
- Maintains and cares for the inventory of Operating Engineer tools, supplies, and equipment. Orders parts and materials as needed.
- Maintains appropriate records pertaining to work schedules, shift operations, pool and boiler daily inspections, and inventories.
- Reads and interprets shop drawings, diagrams, maintenance manuals, and blueprints.
- Operates a broad range of job related tools, equipment, testing devices, and computer software applications as needed.
- Drives and operates vehicles, trailers, material handlers, crane hoist, and scissor and/or boom lifts, properly and safely.
- Lifts, carries, and operates tools, supplies, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Climbs ladders and stairs, stands for long periods of time, bends, stoops, stretches, and crawls.
- Works in varying environments indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Provides assistance to and coordinates the work of contractors, trades, and maintenance personnel, and other helpers as directed.
