Operating Engineer works, with minimal supervision, the operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems. This role may include assisting the Chief Engineer, as well as other engineers within the team.
You will work as part of an engineering team of 6 at a 531,000 square foot Class A office building in downtown Minneapolis. Tenants include banks, trading centers, equity firms, as well as other parcels inside core and shell of the property.

Operating Engineer works, with minimal supervision, the operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to mechanical, HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems. This role may include assisting the Chief Engineer, as well as other engineers within the team.
You will work as part of an engineering team of 6 at a 531,000 square foot Class A office building in downtown Minneapolis. Tenants include banks, trading centers, equity firms, as well as other parcels inside core and shell of the property.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned tasks that include but are not limited to: painting, pressure washing, maintaining lighting system bulbs/ballasts (as allowed by licensing requirements), plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, locksmith work and general maintenance
- Assist in implementing the preventative maintenance program
- Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete any tenant service requests
- Complete provided training aimed at expanding the capabilities of Engineers on the team
- On-call or emergency response situations (if applicable)
- Troubleshoot all building systems, including electrical, Distech, plumbing, Fire/Life safety, locks and keys
- Comply with all safety procedures
- Other projects and tasks to be assigned
- 3-5 years of related work experience, especially in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical or carpentry
- Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable
- Universal CFC EPA certification preferred but not required
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall
- Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift and/or drive
- Strong customer service skills
