Your Mission
As a Civil Engineer at CJR Renewables, you'll be a key technical leader responsible for managing civil engineering tasks across all phases of renewable energy projects—supporting development, design, and execution. From reviewing site conditions and shaping civil designs to coordinating with engineering partners and ensuring compliance, you’ll help bring complex renewable projects to life.
Responsibilities
Conceptual Design
- Review site conditions, technical specs, and client requirements.
- Design site grading, access roads, and stormwater drainage systems.
- Oversee Bills of Materials (BOM) and early-stage documentation.
Detailed Design
- Review and approve 30/60/90/IFC engineering packages.
- Supervise work of external Engineers of Record (EoR).
- Coordinate civil drawings, calculations, and permit applications.
- Manage submittals and RFIs, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Vendor & Procurement Support
- Conduct technical evaluations of civil-related vendor proposals.
- Stay current on engineering innovations and vendor capabilities.
- Offer cost- and performance-optimized recommendations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Engineering Manager, Estimating, Procurement, and Construction teams.
- Represent civil engineering in technical meetings.
- Participate in project handovers to ensure seamless execution.
Compliance & Best Practices
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and project-specific standards.
- Align designs with Integrated Management System (IMS) and QHSE policies.
- Support construction with on-site technical guidance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of internal tools and workflows.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- University degree in Civil Engineering
- 2 years of experience in infrastructure or renewable energy
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Preferred but not required:
- Familiarity with Procore and PVcase
- Professional Engineer (PE) License
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform on-site evaluations and manage site development activities.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary.
- Occasional travel to project sites.
Pay: Commensurate with experience
