CJR Renewables is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will oversee the full estimating function for utility-scale renewable energy projects, ensuring accurate, competitive, and compliant cost proposals. This role will lead a team of estimators, coordinate with cross-functional departments, and play a key role in strategic bid decisions to support the company's growth in the U.S. market.
Responsibilities
- Lead the estimating team in preparing detailed, accurate, and timely cost estimates and proposals for renewable energy projects.
- Review and analyze RFP documents, drawings, technical specifications, and site conditions to fully understand project scope and requirements and provide guidance and support to the team.
- Oversee the entire estimating process, from initial scoping to final proposal delivery.
- Review the final proposals with estimators, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Oversee and validate pricing strategies, labor rates, vendor quotes, and subcontractor input.
- Collaborate with procurement and engineering leadership as well as construction team to ensure estimates reflect accurate execution plans.
- Manage workload allocation, timelines, and deliverables across the estimating team to ensure proposal deadlines are met.
- Develop and maintain databases of historical costs, productivity metrics, and regional market pricing to monitor project costs and to refine estimating accuracy.
- Support executive leadership with strategic pricing decisions and risk assessments for potential bids.
- Drive continuous improvement in estimating processes, methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of estimating experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Salesforce & Microsoft Project
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Strategic mindset with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AutoCAD
- Experience with SAP
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, as necessary.
- Occasional travel to project sites.
Pay: Commensurate with experience
The responsibilities of the role, ranging from Estimator to Estimating Manager, will be aligned with the successful candidate's level of experience.
