The Explosives Countermeasures Instructor is a crucial role at the U.S. Department of State, Foreign Affairs Security Training Center (FASTC) in Blackstone, VA.
- This position requires an individual with extensive knowledge and experience in explosives and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) recognition and avoidance techniques.
The incumbent will serve as an instructor for explosives countermeasures training courses, planning, organizing, and presenting the courses to ensure effective learning outcomes.
- Essential functions include reviewing established training objectives, lesson plans, and instructional methods prior to the beginning of assigned courses.
- The instructor must also research and review current reports related to Diplomatic Security and introduce applicable information into EC courses.
The Explosives Countermeasures Instructor will be responsible for evaluating training effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement, and drafting revisions to course content and materials.
- This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.
Supervisory responsibility is not required for this position.
