Position Summary
The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting financial performance reporting and analysis across the institution. This includes preparing daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, assisting in budget development, and conducting financial and operational analyses to support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis
- Conduct analysis on utilization, payer mix, staffing, cash flow, and business plans
- Research and interpret financial data to support process improvements and forecasting
- Support strategic planning and provide insights through data analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on business cases and performance evaluations
Budget Planning & Monitoring
- Assist in developing and updating budgets, schedules, and variance analyses
- Prepare materials for internal budget presentations and leadership recommendations
- Analyze financial data from multiple systems and ensure alignment with the formulated budget
Reporting
- Produce accurate and timely reports for tracking key financial indicators
- Prepare monthly and ad hoc performance reports for internal distribution
- Compile data for internal and external surveys
Administrative Support
- Assist with additional projects and responsibilities as assigned by management
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (required)
Experience
- Prior experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or healthcare finance (preferred)
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; working knowledge of other Microsoft Office tools
- Experience working with financial systems, databases, or EMRs is a plus
- Familiarity with healthcare finance, cost reporting, and performance tracking methodologies
