What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boiler Operator - 2nd Shift position at Columbia Forest Products?
Successful candidates must be able to operate two wood-fired boilers. Must be familiar with standard boiler operating procedures. Responsible to check indicators such as water level, pressure temperature and steam load, transferring wood fuel from storage to the boiler, clean tubes and ashes weekly.
This position requires you to follow written and verbal job instructions. Being able to provide feedback and apply critical thinking are other keys to this position. Employees must be able to use personal safety equipment while working in a manufacturing environment that includes moving machinery, fast paced fork lift traffic, machine noise, and a work environment that will vary depending on the time of the year.
