General Purpose
We are seeking a Parks Operations Technician to join our team. As a Parks Operations Technician, you will be responsible for performing semi-skilled tasks related to the maintenance and repair of various infrastructure, including parks, trails, sidewalks, bridges, roadsides, irrigation systems, drainage systems, and signage. This is an entry-level position, and as such, we will provide training to help you develop the skills and proficiency required of a journey level position. Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.
The hiring range for this position is $20.19 - $25.24/hour.

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required; some municipal maintenance experience preferred. Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license. Must obtain a commercial Driver’s License Class ”B” within three months of date of hire and maintain during the course of employment. Other applicable certifications may be required at City expense. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of, parks, trails, and open space maintenance
- Knowledge of safe operating procedures for heavy equipment, machines, tools, and toxic agents
- Basic computer skills to complete forms and paperwork and to use email
- Ability to learn the methods, practices, and procedures of landscape maintenance, and general maintenance of City facilities
- Ability to learn City policies and procedures
- Ability to develop relationship with people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to read, understand, and complete written requests and work assignments
- Ability to understand and respond appropriately to verbal directions
- Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and the public
- Ability to perform required duties in varied and extreme weather conditions
- Ability to learn industry standards/codes and implement them into daily completion of projects
