General Purpose
The City of Commerce City is seeking Head Lifeguards to join our team! Under the supervision of the Aquatic Supervisor and guidance of the Aquatic Coordinators, aquatic assistants, and Seasonal Pool Manager the Head Lifeguard is responsible for supervising and participating in the safe daily operations of a municipal swimming pool.
Work involves monitoring and supervising all activities at a municipal pool; assuring safe utilization by the public and performing routine lifeguard duties. Work is performed with minimum supervision and is reviewed through observation, discussion, and results obtained.
We will review applications every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
Hiring salary is dependent upon experience.
The hiring range for Seasonal Head Lifeguard is $19.36 - $21.81 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Graduation from high school or completion of a G.E.D.
- Minimum of 2 years combined experience lifeguarding or managing at a public swimming pool with at least 6 months of minimal supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Successful candidates will have strong knowledge and skills in the areas of public health and safety, public relations, leadership and administration
Must possess current certifications in all or a combination of the following: Starfish Aquatic Institute – StarGuard Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, AED or ability to obtain prior to, or within one month, of hiring.
- Possession of current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification is desirable.
