WSH provides in-patient, psychiatric evaluation and treatment for adults from 34 counties of Western Kentucky who have severe mental illness. Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:
- Conduct interviews and obtain information from patient, patient's family, and/or guardian concerning responsibility for patient care.
- Complete new admission paperwork.
- Establish ability and authority of responsible party for payment of patient services rendered, including precertification for patients with insurance. Perform follow-up interviews and contacts as needed.
- Maintain, review, and evaluate patient accounts, including posting charges, submitting insurance claims, and posting accounts receivable into Siemens Medical Solutions System.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: One year of experience in insurance/third party billing procedures.

Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office setting. Incumbents may come in contact with potentially aggressive patients.
Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
