Description
The Administrative Office of the Courts, Department of Specialty Courts, has an immediate opening for a Program Project Coordinator. This position will be covering Anderson, Shelby and Spencer Counties.
The Department of Specialty Courts oversees the Drug Court, Mental Health Court and Veterans Treatment Court programs. Collectively referred to as Specialty Courts, these programs are similarly structured and supervised and have the same goal – to give participants the opportunity to overcome substance use disorder and make a positive change in their lives.
The PPC will be responsible for the local drug court program and ensuring participants are complying with program requirements.
Examples of duties or responsibilities of this classification:

Examples of duties or responsibilities of this classification:
- Responsible for participant intake utilizing an eligibility assessment and other information.
- Responsible for preparing and individualized program plan for each participant.
- Works with community agencies to provide resources such as financial assistance, alternative housing, medical screening, educational and vocational rehabilitation, and substance abuse treatment.
- Acts as liaison to promote the drug court program in the local community.
- Responsible for maintaining and reporting program data as required.
- Provides case management for 15-18 participants.
- Enters data in MIS.
- Some overnight travel required.
- Other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Service field
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: NONE
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Associates Degree with two years job related experience or High School Diploma with 4 years job related experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE
Working Conditions
Must be able to deal with highly stressed people. Must be able to deal with substance abuse issues. Must be able to work inside a detention center on as needed basis.
