What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Health Preparedness Specialist position at Commonwealth of Pennsylvania?
As a Public Health Preparedness Specialist, you will oversee public health response planning and implementation associated with local and regional emergency preparedness and response, particularly as it relates to Emergency Support Function 8 - Public Health and Medical Services (ESF8) to ensure complete and consistent plans are complete, exercised, and able to guide the response to a public health emergency. In this role, you will direct the organization of public health emergency preparedness and response infrastructure through guidance and direction to the regional and local public health governments and partner organizations to prepare them to respond to a public health emergency. You will confer with and act as a liaison to regional and local stakeholders and assist them, as appropriate, in the development of plans or procedures to maintain current relationships with partners that will support the response to a public health emergency. You will also ensure there is an effective working relationship between the public health, healthcare, and EMS emergency preparedness communities, as well as advocate for public health within the ESF8 agencies to ensure that ESF8 objectives are met during preparedness and response activities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- This position is home headquartered and covers the north central portion of the Commonwealth which includes Bradford, Centre, Clinton, Columbia, Montour, Northumberland, Lycoming, Potter, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga, and Union counties.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of professional experience in planning, developing, evaluating, or operating a public health emergency preparedness, healthcare emergency preparedness, or emergency management program; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
