Security Officer 2 - South Mountain Restoration Center

The Department of Human Services is looking for a Security Officer to join our team at the South Mountain Restoration Center (SMRC). As a Security Officer 2, you will be responsible for training, guiding, and mentoring lower-level security officers in facility policies, procedures, and security methods. Your duties will include managing the activities of residents, employees, and the public in line with established regulations. You will ensure the accurate and efficient operation of the agency's communication center. This role involves supervising your assigned shift and overseeing the vehicle registration database. You will patrol the facility grounds, buildings, and nearby roadways, either by vehicle or on foot, to maintain a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Additionally, you will handle various communication tasks, including operating the switchboard and monitoring emergency systems such as fire alarms and county emergency notifications. You will also sort and forward mail, record call-offs, maintain the key control log, provide staff locator services, monitor security system software and hardware, manage body release documentation, and operate paging systems, base radios, and other related equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 40-hour work week 
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with rotating days off. There is no unpaid lunch break for this position. 
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a Security Officer 1; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience or training which provides the knowledges, skills, and abilities required to provide supervisory security services. 

Special Requirement:

• You must currently possess a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Other Requirements:

Legal Requirements:

• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
