What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Services Specialist position at Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County, Inc.?
*This role is bilingual/biliterate in Spanish and English. A test will be administered prior to employment.*
As our Child Care Services Specialist, you will be responsible for providing community-wide Child Care Resource and Referral services. Your main goal will be to assist parents and caretakers in selecting the best child care options for their families. Additionally, you will work tirelessly to build child care capacity through training, consultation, coaching, and support.
We are looking for someone who has:
Combination of related education and/or experience equivalent to four years in social services, child development, resource and referral and/or case management.
Experience in another Resource and Referral Agency in California using State and Federal Regulations.
Dependable and insured transportation with a valid California Drivers License
As a Child Care Services Specialist:
You will plan, develop, and conduct trainings and individualized consultations for individuals to become child care providers.
You will provide child care planning and referral services to support families in finding a quality child care match and to link them with resources.
You will collect data and statistics, and contribute to monthly and quarterly reports.
You will recruit and enroll participants into the Child Care Food Program and various quality improvement programs.
You will communicate regulations, distribute resources and contribute to the health, safety and viability of child care programs.
You will conduct site visits for the purposes of monitoring for compliance, support for licensing, activities with children, or assistance with paperwork.
You will process eligibility and claims for meal reimbursement.
You will represent programs at appropriate workshops, conferences and meetings.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Must be able to relate well to all people of the community regardless of color, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, age, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, disability or socio-economic level.
Must be at least 18 years of age by date of hire.
Must comply with the CAPSLO COVID-19 Vaccination Policy, either being fully vaccinated or sign a COVID-19 vaccination declination form.
Based on program, a current TB skin test/Chest X-Ray may be required.
Employment is contingent upon meeting all applicable job requirements and background requirements. A criminal history clearance is required prior to employment.
Upon hire, agency staff will check the Megan’s Law (or the current sexual predator website) to ensure each staff being hired is clear for employment. Agency staff will check the website annually to ensure all program staff are cleared to work.
