What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Services Employment Coach position at Community Interface Services?
Community Interface Services is seeking to hire a reliable, full-time Employment Coach to work with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. If you are interested in a career in helping people and making an impact on your community, read on about our human services position!
As an Employment Coach, you would:
- Support people in finding or maintaining a job. Shadow participants during their shifts to provide direction and support them in developing their skills.
- Develop teaching plans to support individuals in professional development and increasing their independence in the workplace.
- Support participants in accessing their local community, navigating higher education, or volunteering to build vocational skills.
- Develop and implement a plan of direct support for an individual's personal goals.
- Document everyone's progress, working with a larger team to analyze metrics and determine future steps.
This full-time social services position works Monday-Friday between the hours of 10 AM-7 PM and will primarily work in the areas of Camp Pendleton and Oceanside. You will be supporting groups as well as individuals working in the base mess halls, base access is not required!
This position earns a starting range of $20-22 per hour, plus earn two incentives of $625 each after completing brief online trainings (a total of $1250 in extra pay before taxes)! Earn a $1 per hour pay increase after completing a six-month development and performance program! Future professional development opportunities include ongoing training and a unique leadership development program which leads to future pay increase and promotion opportunities.

Qualifications:
To be successful as an Employment Coach at Community Interface Services, you'll need to possess a unique set of skills and qualities. First and foremost, exceptional customer service skills are essential, as you'll be working closely with individuals and providing them with the support and assistance they need. Community building and networking skills will also come in handy, allowing you to establish strong relationships and partnerships that ultimately enhance the support you can offer. Lastly, your teaching skills will play a pivotal role in empowering individuals to develop new skills and achieve their personal goals.
At minimum, we are seeking someone who has a high school diploma (bachelor's degree preferred), a passenger vehicle and safe driving record, able to pass a background check, and able to assess and make decisions to improve someone's wellbeing.
