Now Hiring: Full-Time and Part-Time Activity Assistants
- Day shift
- Weekend rotation requirement
Responsibilities of an Activity Aide:
- Must be able to relay information concerning a resident’s observable condition, degree of involvement or incidents immediately to the appropriate supervisor
- Maintain documentation records i.e.: attendance forms, room visit logs, material check list, food requisitions, program planning sheets
- Must be able to assist as a co-facilitator, provide 1:1 activity visit, implement scheduled programs, lead both large and small groups, and assist residents as needed
- Ability to adapt activities for participants functional levels
- Prepare the activity programs: daily schedule, content, and gather supplies needed/do prep-work
- Assist in the preparation of activity rooms/areas for scheduled activity programs and events
- Develop, create, and display thematic holiday decorations throughout the facility
- Other duties as assigned by Recreation Director and/or Administrator
Qualifications of an Activity Aide:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Computer knowledge in, but not limited to, Microsoft Word and the ability to create flyers
- Must be creative and have a strong interest in art, music, educational development, or hands on experiences dealing with a geriatric, youth, or disabled population
- Must have strong time management, communication, writing, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently or part of a group
- Previous long term care experience is required
