Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Activity Aide to join our dynamic team in providing exceptional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and leading various activities and events to promote socialization, engagement, and overall well-being of our residents. This role requires a compassionate and organized individual who can work independently and as part of a team.
Duties:
- Develop and implement activity programs and events tailored to meet the needs and preferences of our residents, including those with dementia and memory care needs.
- Plan and lead activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and physical exercise, such as arts and crafts, games, outdoor activities, and group outings.
- Coordinate with the social work team to identify and address the needs of our residents, including those with complex care requirements.
- Assist with daily living skills (ADLs) and provide support with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting.
- Develop and maintain relationships with our residents, their families, and other team members to ensure a positive and welcoming environment.
- Participate in event planning and execution, including birthday parties, holiday celebrations, and other special events.
- Document and track resident participation and feedback, using this information to continually improve and refine our activity programs.
- Collaborate with the nursing home and long-term care staff to ensure that our activity programs align with the care plans of our residents.
- Maintain a clean and organized activity area, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are in good condition and available for use.
Skills:
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home, or long-term care settings, with a focus on dementia care and memory care.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to plan and organize events, including event planning and execution.
- Knowledge of social work principles and practices.
- Experience in supporting residents with daily living skills (ADLs).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with residents with complex care needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
