General Summary:
Performs a variety of Human Resource duties at a professional level focused in recruitment, onboarding, and retention. Functions as an employee advocate striving to continuously improve the company work environment
What is the Job?
- Ensures there is an acceptable pool of candidates by constantly having a presence in various media sources, job fairs, social media networking, and partnering with organizations who provide access to job seekers.
- Processes and maintains physical and electronic applications and resumes. Keeps accurate and up to date records of all candidates for employment and their status throughout the process.
- Facilitates positive and ongoing communication with candidates for employment throughout the process including the final hiring decision to ensure no candidates are left wondering about the process.
- Oversees onboarding processes to include such things as the interview process, job offers, pre-employment testing, referencing, skills testing, and orientation.
- Makes hiring decision for designated positions. For all other positions, works closely with department management on the interviewing and selection process to keep it moving along at an acceptable pace.
- Works with partner staffing agencies to process direct hire candidates or make requests for temporary labor.
- When requested, works with outside recruitment agencies to find candidates for hard to fill, specialized positions.
- Processes all internal job bids and other paperwork in a timely fashion. Works diligently to provide internal candidates with consideration for positions as a priority when qualified.
- Calculates rates of pay for internal transfers and new hires consistent with company compensation philosophies.
- Develops promotional material for recruitment including videos, brochures, and documents. Maintain a positive relationship with high schools, technical colleges, and other associations to assist with recruiting efforts.
- Coordinates and conducts orientation on a pre-establish schedule in needed to support the Retention Coordinator.
- Works closely with assigned HR Business Partner to assist in building processes to reduce turnover and open positions.
- Maintains compliance with all state and federal laws and internal company policy and procedures.
- Presents recommendations for updates to various Human Resources forms, documents, policies, and procedures as appropriate.

- Maintains confidentiality of business, employee, and candidate information.
What you bring:
- Knowledge of advanced Human Resources practices normally acquired through an Associates degree in Office Management, Business Administration, Communication, or related field.
- Background in employment law and other government compliance regulations is necessary.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in Human Resources preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of computer software (Windows and Microsoft office). Experience with a comprehensive applicant tracking and human resources systems beneficial.
- Ability to work independently and be self directed.
- Requires excellent oral and written communication skills. High levels of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
