The Principal Radiation Effects Engineer will lead the assessment and evaluation of radiation effects on semiconductor devices and systems. This role involves conducting radiation testing, characterizing device performance, and providing expertise in shielding design and material selection to ensure reliability in radiation environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead radiation testing and analysis of semiconductor devices.
- Conduct device characterization under various radiation conditions.
- Perform failure analysis to identify root causes of device degradation.
- Design and simulate effective radiation shielding solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate radiation hardening techniques into product development.
- Utilize simulation tools and Monte Carlo simulations to predict radiation effects on materials and electronics.
- Analyze data from radiation experiments to inform design improvements and reliability assessments.
- Stay updated with advancements in nuclear engineering and radiation effects research.
- PhD or Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Material Science, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in radiation effects engineering or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor physics and device characterization techniques.
- Experience with failure analysis methodologies and reliability engineering principles.
- Proficiency in simulation tools for radiation effects analysis.
- Familiarity with both ionizing and non-ionizing radiation impacts on materials.
- Excellent data analysis skills and experience in Monte Carlo simulations.
