JOB DESCRIPTION AND DUTIES
Under close supervision of an Accounting Administrator I, the Accountant Trainee, as a learner is responsible for audit, payment, and reconciliation of encumbrances and invoices in accordance with Government Codes, State Administrative Manual, Department procedures and the Prompt Payment Act. The incumbent researches and learns encumbrances and payment procedure problems and reviews and analyzes Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal) financial reports.
Working Conditions
The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting. Air-conditioned building with elevator access, cubicle with natural and artificial lighting. Telework typical work requires prolonged use of a computer, calculator, telephone, and interaction with co-workers. Telework is available as approved by the department.
Telework Information: This position is eligible for remote-centered hybrid telework up to three days per week; the other two days per week are in the office for hands-on training and team meetings.
