Role Summary:
The Senior Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in enhancing plant performance by leveraging deep technical knowledge of equipment, systems, and process variables. This individual will lead capital projects, support daily operations, and champion initiatives that reduce costs, boost productivity, and minimize waste-all while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and execution of capital projects from concept to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and aligned with ROI targets and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with safety teams to reimagine work processes that proactively eliminate risks and enhance workplace safety.
- Oversee all aspects of project implementation, including budgeting, scheduling, contractor coordination, personnel training, and successful start-up.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, quality, food safety, and GMP standards across project activities.
- Provide technical troubleshooting and support to maintain smooth, safe, and efficient plant operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical preferred) or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-7 years of engineering experience, including successful delivery of large-scale projects (>$500K), vendor management, and mentoring of junior engineers.
- Industry experience in wet milling, food, chemical, biochemical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of unit operations such as heat and material balances, P&ID development, separations, crystallization, drying, material handling, and energy management.
