EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 62,888 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Respite Companion to work part time for its In-home respite program.
The Respite Companion position is a non-exempt position paying $16 per hour for up to 6 hours per week. Position is available immediately and has flexible days/hours. The office is located in Hempstead, NY and the role reports to the program's Coordinator.

Primary Purpose of Job:
To provide "time off" for the caregiver of a home-bound elderly person.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Participate in orientation and in-service workshops.
- Provide supervision and companionship on an individual basis to elderly persons.
- Assist care recipient with everyday routines such as eating, walking and light exercise.
- Submit records and time sheets on a timely basis.
- Report any problems which affect service to the Sr. Director or Program Coordinator.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate appropriately with elderly individuals.
