ER Nurse Job Summary:
The ER Nurse provides high-quality patient-centered care, coordinating with an interdisciplinary team and effectively responding to changes in patient conditions. This role includes managing acute patient situations, educating families, and maintaining critical care competencies.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of the patient's condition and care needs
- Develop and revise individualized plans of care as indicated by assessment and patient response to treatment
- Evaluate overall plan periodically for effectiveness
- Involve the patient and family in the formulation of goals
- Follow the seven (7) medication rights and reduce the potential for medication errors
- Demonstrate knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age of the patient and their clinical condition
Requirements:
- Nursing degree from an accredited school
- Current RN license in the State of Connecticut
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
