POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Physical Therapist, you will provide treatments to patients by evaluating their function and selecting and applying appropriate treatments to improve or restore function.
You will participate in an interdisciplinary approach for in-patient and community education, and in the clinical education of affiliating students. You may also be responsible for cross-site coverage.
- This position requires an individual with strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- You must have personal computer skills and be proficient in the use of Windows-based programs needed for department functions.
- Basic keyboarding skills are desirable but not required in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet search capabilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate patients based on departmental standards.
- Conduct and modify evaluations based on patient symptoms, activity level, and medical status, establishing individualized goals for each patient.
- Treat patients with therapeutic exercises and modalities to relieve pain and attain established goals.
- Utilize techniques to assist in normalizing motor activity and learning.
- Educate patients and families in home exercise programs and functional activities to maximize independent functional activity.
- Determine when a patient has achieved maximal benefit from treatment and recommend discharge if appropriate.
- Document patient information accurately and consistently, adhering to insurance guidelines and department policies.
- Foster interdepartmental communication and communicate with referring physicians regarding patient care.
- Perform duties with proper body mechanics and safety to prevent injuries.
- Supervise affiliated students and attend continuing education courses to improve treatment techniques.
Salary : $60,000 - $100,000
