Job Title: Site Coordinator Department

Job Description

The After School Site Coordinator is responsible for coordinating after school activities at a large urban public high school. This includes working with school personnel and EduCare Staff to insure a comprehensive and coordinated after school program, that may include homework assistance, enrichment and arts activities, work preparation workshops, leadership development and fitness activities, as determined by the contract with Beyond the Bell Branch of LAUSD.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
1. On School Site Coordination and Administration of After School Program

Works on school site to coordinate daily after school programs that may include some evening or weekend activities. Provides daily management of after school program site staff (Assistant Site Coordinator and class / club instructors) –approximately 10 part time staff.

Represents the After School Program to the school community, including students, parents, staff, faculty, and community partners.

Responsible for outreach, recruitment and enrollment of students in the after school program.

Demonstrates full knowledge of the grant requirements.

Demonstrates full knowledge of all programs and services offered by after school partnerships.

Submits monthly calendar and daily schedule of all after school programs and activities.
Works with school and partner agencies to implement new programs and activities.
Develops leadership activities.
Is available to students during the school day and after school; helps students choose after school activities as well as develop programs based on student interest and need.

Works with community outreach organizations to bring additional resources, services and programs to campus.
Counsels and advises students as needed and helps them to resolve problems that may impede their participation in the after school program.

Attends Professional Development and other program related meetings.
Attends EduCare Site Coordinator meetings
Works with IT person to have EduCare After School Program‘s activities listed on school’s website.

2. Records Maintenance and Data Collection

  • Collects daily attendance records for all after school program activities and input date into acitivity sheet
  • Responsible for distributing and collecting student intake forms for after school program.
  • Provides monthly reports, program outcome data and additional data as required by LAUSD/Beyond the Bell.
  • Keeps notes on program activities, successes and challenges as they occur.
  • Completes our surveys at the end of year as required by LAUSD/BTB.
  • Distributes and collects surveys from students, parents and teachers to determine student interest in programs and activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 1 to 15 Instructors/Tutors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; PayChex Flex for timekeeping purposes and Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint; etc.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Other Qualifications: Must be willing and able to travel to multiple locations throughout the Los Angeles area for trainings, meetings, etc. on an as needed basis. The incumbent must have a Live Scan (fingerprinting) background check prior to start, and proof of Tuberculosis Test within 60 days of hire date. Incumbent must also secure and maintain a CPR/First Aid certification and attend annual Risk Management Training.
