Summary
The Site Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing after school programs and activities at an urban high school or middle school. The Site Coordinator works with the other site staff, school administration and staff, After School Programs management, and other EduCare staff and departments to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated after school program that includes academic, enrichment and physical recreation programs, activities, events and field trips. The Site Coordinator mentors students and ensures a safe, caring after school program environment for all students that encourages creativity, expression and social emotional learning (SEL).
Location: VOCES Middle School
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Works on the school site to coordinate and manage daily after school programs, activities, events and field trips.
- Effectively manages an Assistant Site Coordinator, and four (4) to twenty (20) program Site Staff.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the grant requirements. Adheres to grant requirements and all after-school policies and procedures as outlined in the After School Program Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Meets both grant year and calendar year student attendance goals.
- Represents EduCare’s After School Programs to the school community including students, parents and families, administration and school staff, school districts, and community partners.
- Effectively and professionally communicates with the students, site staff, school administration and staff,parents and families, external after school observers, school district personnel and other EduCare staffdepartments.
- Actively recruits students to participate in after school programs, events and field trips in order to supportthe site’s attendance goals.
- Assesses students’ needs and interests to offer programs that also align with the school’s goals andobjectives. Uses data and survey feedback to modify programming as necessary.
- Is available to students during the school day and after school; helps students choose after school activities.
- Counsels and advises students to help them resolve problems that may impede their participation in theafter school program.
- Works with the school, vendors and partner agencies to implement new programs and activities.
- Organizes, facilitates, and participates in after school program events and field trips.
- Works with community outreach organizations to bring additional services, resources and programs to campus.
- Manages and performs daily compliance responsibilities:
Attendance tracking and reporting:
- Follows EduCare Foundation’s (EduCare’s) daily compliance procedures with regard to collecting, reviewing and approving program attendance sheets.
- Inputs attendance into EduCare’s attendance tracking systems within 48 hours of the program.
- Follows EduCare’s daily compliance procedures for taking and submitting attendance through the BTB App if working at a Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) school site.
- Distributes, collects, reviews,track sand maintains EduCare’s AfterSchool Registration Forms in accordance with EduCare’s compliance procedures.
- Conducts student interest surveys as well as surveys of students, school administration and teachers, EduCare staff, and parents for the Quality Standards and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) feedback processes.
- Administer the monthly program calendars.
- Participates in monthly program observations and emergency drills.
- Submits required documentation to the Finance and Human Resources departments.
- Manages school site budget and expenditures.
- Follows school, district and EduCare school site safety protocols, policies and procedures.
- Attends professional development, site staff meetings, and EduCare organizational meetings.
- Performs other duties or projects as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

- Education: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university is preferred.
- Experience: Two (2) years’ experience working in after school programs, youth-centered programs and/orcommunity based organizations. Two (2) years’ experience teaching, leading, and/or supporting studentsfrom diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished inwritten, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables instandardized situations.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of databasesoftware, internet software; and Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Other Skills and Abilities: Must have previous experience working with middle or high school students. Ability to think innovatively and incorporate feedback into the development process. Ability to process and communicate information at both a macro and micro level. Some evenings and weekends will be required. Bilingual (English/ Spanish) is a plus. Must be high energy, adaptable, and flourish in a team environment.
Other Qualifications: Although the employee will be assigned to a specific school site location, if EduCare’s needs change, the employee may be re-assigned to another school site location. Must be willing and able to travel to multiple locations throughout the Los Angeles area for trainings, meetings, etc. on an as needed basis. Must successfully complete the Live Scan background check prior to beginning employment. Must present proof of negative Tuberculosis skin test (Mantoux) dated within 60 days prior to the hire date before beginning employment. Must complete CPR/First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment. Completion of other required trainings (i.e., worker’s compensation, training against harassment, etc.) when assigned.
