| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit | The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Engineering Technology in the School of Science, Aviation, Health and Technology at Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) offers undergraduate programs leading to Bachelor of Science degrees in Mathematics, Computer Science and Engineering Technology. The Department also offers a M.S. in Mathematics with concentrations in Mathematics Education, Applied Mathematics, Community College Teaching, and Remote Sensing. The primary purpose of the unit is to provide quality higher education and cutting-edge research experience to our students. |

| Competencies/Knowledge Skills, and Abilities Required in this Position | In depth knowledge of semiconductors, in particular silicon, hyperdoping of silicon, Bandstructure and Bandgap Engineering, Electron Energy Intermediate Band, Two photon transition, Mott metal-insulator transition. Also, expertise in: 1) fabrication of samples; 2) materials characterization; and 3) multi-scale computer modeling of materials are required. Experience in silicon technologies, fabrication of thin films, multi-scale characterization of materials, electron microscopy and related techniques, spectroscopic methods, nanoprobe analytical techniques, materials analysis through continuum and atomistic modeling approaches (LAMMPS, DFT...) are highly desired. The candidate must have a strong publication record in the field. Position requires strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with faculty and students; strong technical and analytical skills; ability to write technical reports; and effective organizational skills and customer service skills necessary for a research-oriented environment. |
