The Opportunity: The Department of Humanities and Communication at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ, is seeking to fill a 9-month, tenure-track position in the area Technical and Professional Writing. Responsibilities The successful candidate will teach a 4/4 load of undergraduate courses in professional writing, business communication, as well as other writing and humanities courses that fit the department’s needs and the candidate’s interests. The candidate will have a 3/3 teaching load in the first year and can receive additional course reassignments for research. The successful candidate will support the department, college, and campus through service as well as cultivate and maintain a research agenda in the candidate’s area of expertise. The Department of Humanities and Communication offers a range of general education courses and a Humanities minor. We collaborate closely with other departments and programs to support the University’s core curriculum and STEM-related missions. The successful candidate will join a diverse department with colleagues whose scholarship reaches across a wide range of specializations, including technical writing, writing program administration, rhetorical theory, media literacies, environmental literacy, social justice, cultural rhetorics, health communication, and experiential learning.
