Gymnastics Instructor

Job description Our Gymnastics Counselor will create and teach a curriculum for children, aged from 4 to 15. You will be responsible for working on small projects to teach the fundamentals of gymnastics while keeping it fun, diverse, educational and age-appropriate. You will be responsible for running activity periods for groups of up to 18 children at a time, assisted by 1 to 3 counselors. The Gymnastics Counselor position is perfectly suited to a student or teacher (or similar) who has gymnastics teaching experience and/or is a gymnast. Essential: The knowledge and ability to explain and demonstrate gymnastics fundamentals and techniques through drills and games. Must have graduated high school. An enthusiastic, motivated, warm, friendly, caring individual. The ability to communicate, through patience and clarity, with children and co-workers. Ability to address stressful situations appropriately in a fast paced, interactive environment Everwood Day Camp is an outdoor focused summer camp featuring many physically demanding activities on land and water. Staff members are regularly required to walk, hike and otherwise move in woods, fields, beaches, and lakes. To perform the job, each staff member of Everwood Day Camp must be physically able to travel around a large rural environment (fields, woods, beach, etc.) over uneven ground on a regular basis. Preferred: Experience working with children Experience teaching gymnastics DATES, HOURS AND PAY 8:30 am to 4:00pm (this includes a 30-minute break per day) June 24th to Aug 23h (9 wks, preferred) or Aug 16th (8 wks) and hours are guaranteed. Mon to Fri each week except for July 4th when we are closed. Salary range is $3950-$4150 for 8 weeks of work. Extra income can be made by working Week 9, working as a Bus Counselor, or Extended day! LOCATION Sharon, MA but with free bus transportation from all over MA and RI! Housing is NOT included.
