Head Lifeguard applicants must have a great personality, be hard working, detail oriented, work well as part of a team, be an outstanding communicator and love to solve problems. A capacity to learn and grow is a must. Ready for a challenge? We are looking for a Head Lifeguard at a Day Camp Waterfront which looks and acts more like a Resident Camp Waterfront. An optimal candidate for this position would have resident camp waterfront experience (or equivalent) or aquatics management experience. You will be responsible for supporting a Waterfront Director to manage a team of 15-20 lifeguard/swim instructors. Motivating our waterfront staff and instilling in them a strong sense of safety, warmth, enthusiasm, professionalism and pride is a crucial part of this role. You will also oversee our inflatable adventure course. Swimming is done in a lake and pools! We use a floating dock system to separate and define swim areas. JOB REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
An enthusiastic, motivated individual.
The knowledge and ability to explain and demonstrate swimming fundamentals and techniques through drills and games.
The ability to communicate, with patience and clarity, with children and co-workers.
Current lifeguard certification.
Experience of working with children.
Experience of teaching swimming.
PREFERRED
Previous experience of managing adults.
Experience of working on open water (lake or similar).
Camp experience (Overnight or Day Camp).
DATES, TIMES AND BENEFITS
The camp day runs from 9am to 4pm, with your regular work day being approximately 8am to 5pm but some evening and weekend preparation time will also be required to organize for each upcoming week.
Dates of Camp are from June 24th to August 23th (9 weeks). Staff training earlier in May and June is also required.
Competitive salary is based on experience and qualifications.

Staff members are regularly required to walk, hike and otherwise move in woods, fields, beaches, and lakes. In order to perform the job, each staff member of Everwood Day Camp must be physically able to travel around a large rural environment (fields, woods, beach, etc.) over uneven ground on a regular basis.

DATES, HOURS AND PAY
8am to 5pm (this includes a 30 minute break per day).
June 24th to Aug 23th (9 weeks, preferred) or Aug 18th (8 weeks) and hours are guaranteed.
Mon to Fri each week except for July 4th when we are closed.
Weekly staff training (on nights and weekends) in May and June.
Salary is $6,160 (8 weeks) or 6,880 (9 weeks) of work, based on experience and qualifications.
