Automotive Air Conditioning Technician
Status: Regular Full-Time (40 hours/week) May require overtime
Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Work Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Thursday; 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday
Position Description:
Involves the installation of after-market automotive air conditioners
Reconditioning
Pull vacuums
Charge
Troubleshoot and repair
Wire and test
Must be familiar with the following systems:
R-12
R-134A
R-22
The following is a minimum tools list that the candidate will need to have before starting work at Excellance:
- Standard wrenches 3/8” to ¾”
- Standard screw drivers both flat-head and Phillips-head #6-#8
- Standard socket set ¼” drive
- Standard socket set 3/8” drive
- Needle nose pliers
- Channel locks
- Side cutters
- Tape measure
Requirements:
HS Diploma or GED preferred. Must be able to read and write.
ASE Certification is preferred (T7); experience working on medium duty trucks preferred.
Ability to follow instructions, multi-task and work under time constraints
Must have a good attitude and strong work ethic. Must have good attendance and a stable work history.
Working Conditions:
Typical automotive manufacturing shop environment (hot/cold/dusty).
Physical:
This position involves manual labor using assigned tools. This position requires the individual to reach, stand, kneel, bend, stoop, twist and lie down (on a creeper) to accomplish the assembly of emergency vehicles. Individual will perform a variety of tasks and will be in various “positions” throughout the workday.
Other:
Must be able to work overtimes as required.
