Automotive Electrical Technician
Status: Regular Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Work Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday thru Thursday; 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Friday
Position Description:
This candidate should have some 12-volt DC experience, preferably in an automotive environment (such as wiring car stereos, or installing car alarms). The candidate should have work experience related to carpentry tasks, such as trim work, using a tape measure proficienctly. Previous experience with wire harness assembly or electrical console assembly is a plus. Previouse experience in mechanical assembly, metal cuttings, drilling, or mounting is helpful. The candidate will use different types of tools and perform a variety of tasks to accomplish the assembly of emergency vehicles.
The following is a minimum tools list that the candidate will need to have before starting work at Excellance:
- Standard wrenches 3/8” to ¾”
- Standard screw drivers both flat-head and Phillips-head #6-#8
- Standard socket set ¼” drive
- Standard socket set 3/8” drive
- Needle nose pliers
- Channel locks
- Side cutters
- Tape measure
Requirements:
HS Diploma or GED preferred. Must be able to read and write.
Ability to follow instructions, multi-task and work under time constraints
Must have a good attitude and strong work ethic. Must have good attendance and a stable work history.
Previous work experience in an automotive manufacturing environment is a plus. ASE certification in electrical/electronic systems is a big plus.
Working Conditions:
Typical automotive manufacturing shop environment (hot/cold/dusty).
Physical:
This position involves manual labor using assigned tools. This position requires the individual to reach, stand, kneel, bend, stoop, twist and lie down (on a creeper) to accomplish the assembly of emergency vehicles. Individual will perform a variety of tasks and will be in various “positions” throughout the workday.
Other:
Must be able to work overtimes as required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour
