1:1 Direct Support Professional (Job #MN-JH)
A family with a 17-year-old boy in Syracuse is looking for someone to help him with safety and social skills and pursue hobbies and other interests in the community. He enjoys playing on his iPad, video games, going to the movies and eating out. He enjoys Baseball, spending time with his mom and being helpful with his dad with chores around the house. He's a young boy with a lot of energy and looking for an active staff that can keep up with him. The ideal candidate is creative and engaging, active and patient, and has experience diffusing challenging behaviors and supporting youth to express their feelings and emotions.
This is a part-time position, but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency.
Hours and days of work: Up to 2 days a week for Community Hab: staff can pick either Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 5:30pm-8pm. Respite hours would be Saturday and Sunday from 10AM-2PM.
Starting pay: Starting pay for Respite is $16.50 and Community hab is $18.50/hour and increases with years of relevant experience.

Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work independently in the person's home and/or community.
- Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills
- No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
- New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required.
- Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community.
