Automation Test Lead for Banking Project
Lead the automation testing efforts within our banking domain, working closely with development, QA, DevOps, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, automated end‑to‑end and API test solutions across Java, Python, and Playwright.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reusable, and robust test automation frameworks.
- Strong expertise in Selenium WebDriver and Playwright for functional test automation.
- Proficiency with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
- Experience in API automation using tools like RestAssured, Postman, or similar.
- Exposure to mobile automation using Appium or equivalent tools.
- Ability to manage priorities and work independently or as part of a team
- Evaluate the existing framework ,recommend and implement best practices.
- Brainstorm on approach and strategy on any new requirements.
- Strong in Java and Python
- Develop, execute and maintain automated test scripts.
- Strong in Selenium and Playwright
- Strong in communication and highlighting risk and challenges.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, and product teams to identify test cases suitable for automation.
- Stay up to date with emerging test automation trends and tools.
- Analyze test results and report bugs using tools like Azure DevOps.
- Mentor team members and support skill development.
Essential skills
Strong hands-on development in Java and Python, particularly within test frameworks .
Expert in Playwright, ideally paired with Selenium experience
Deep exposure to API automation (RestAssured, Postman, SOAP/REST).
Expertise in BDD/TDD methodologies and frameworks like Cucumber or Serenity
Desired skills
Knowledge of database queries (SQL/PostgreSQL/Snowflake) and testing.
Strong leadership, stakeholder communication, and project management skills.
- Banking/financial domain experience especially with digital banking applications
Experience
8-10 years in software testing with 6 years of practical automation experience, including 2–3 years in a leadership role
