The Paper Mill Maintenance Manager provides both proactive and reactive maintenance leadership on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure. Responsible for scheduling and overseeing timely completion of maintenance projects. Leads team of salaried and hourly employees in planning and executing maintenance work and projects throughout the department. Oversees the maintenance department and manages maintenance employees in the Paper Mill. Prepare work schedules, assign work and supervise work (while minimizing overtime and call-in hours). Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule program for applicable equipment and machinery. Arrange for and manage appropriate third-party contractor support, as needed. Improve and lead the maintenance organization, designing and implementing long-term continuous improvement applications and systems to enhance the longevity of the department’s equipment. Actively participate in planning and executing outages for the facility. Provide on-call and weekend duty coverage within a designated rotation. Bachelor’s Degree in Paper Science, Mechanical Engineering preferred. Related journeyman craft experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance, engineering, project management and strategic planning. Strong process improvement and problem-solving skill sets are required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Power Point and Project.
