What are the responsibilities and job description for the Service Technician position at Five Star Equipment?
- Provides service with machine make/model, serial number, hour meter reading, parts/equipment/supplies used during the course of the repairs and notification of any additional repairs required but not completed. Signs timecards for each day.
- Possesses strong diagnostic and mechanical operation skills. Understands and implements concept of root cause analysis.
- Actively participates in the Company’s safety mind frame. Is aware of one’s surroundings and wear all PPE at all times.
- Reports incidents related to near–miss, accidents or injury ASAP to proper company representative.
- Makes Service Manager aware of non-serviceable tools, equipment, or vehicles or other departmental safety concerns.
- Participates in formal scheduled or informal performance reviews. Discusses future goals or improvement plans as needed.
- Responsible for attending mandated training whether on or off site, at dealership or online and completes training materials.
- Shall not discuss any warranty items with customers regarding repairs or service, in terms of what the customer may or may not be responsible for.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Heavy Equipment repair and maintenance: 3-5 years required.
- Experience troubleshooting and diagnosing heavy equipment issues on a variety of equipment such as John Deere, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Case CE.
- Hydraulics – 3 years preferred.
- Must possess basic tools of the trade.
- Ability to use laptop computer and software applications such as Microsoft Office and Internet functions.
- Ability to work flexible hours as well as work in various demanding environmental conditions.
- Communicate effectively. Can solve problems whether conceptual or concrete in nature with little to no assistance.
- Clean motor vehicle record
