Foodland Super Market, Hawaii’s largest locally owned grocery retailer, is hiring a General Merchandise Manager to join our team!
Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Ensure accurate billing and pricing
2. Routinely check products to confirm quality, count, and condition
3. Submit required reports and surveys to the corporate office
4. Responsible for maintaining gross margins and prices
5. Enter or record all price changes in a timely manner
6. Check and verify grocery department receiving’s
7. Maintain, safeguard, and submit records or markups and markdowns, in-store use of merchandise, voids, refunds, and bad merchandise/spoilage write-offs
8. Maintaining a neat, well-groomed personal appearance, observing company dress code
9. Abiding by all company policies and procedures
10. Performing other duties and assignments as directed
Qualifications:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age
2. High school education with some college background preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
3. At least 3 years experience in the supermarket industry
4. Must successfully pass math test
5. Must successfully pass cashier training after hire
6. Must successfully pass physical test
Work Environment:
1. Most duties performed within Grocery Department
2. Work includes: walking, standing for long periods, repetitive hand and arm movements, frequent lifting, reaching, climbing, bending, stretching, kneeling, and continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment
3. Includes occasional exposure to temperature extremes in refrigerated coolers and storage areas
