What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Development Manager - Jewelry position at Fourth Floor?
Our client, a jewelry company, is looking for a Product Development Manager to join the team for 5-6 months. This temporary role will partner with our NY Product Development, Production, Merchandising, and Design teams to drive the Product Development process for jewelry.
Responsibilities:
- Support to evaluate development specs for accuracy, completeness, quality, affordability, and compliance prior to release.
- Liaises with suppliers on development and tracks and monitors sampling process.
- Liaises with design to get supplier CAD & 3D approvals during sampling process.
- Review and evaluate samples at Proto, SMS, and PP sample stages to ensure execution is in line with design specifications, in addition to providing technical and construction guidance.
- Help resolve costing challenges.
- Data entry into PLM system. Ensure Data integrity.
- Sample management: external & internal sample needs.
- Escalate issues to Sr. Director, ensuring timely and accurate communication of critical matters for efficient resolution.
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent life experience
- Minimum of 7 years of proven product development experience at managerial level and at similar brand level
- Prefer experience working in jewelry
- Strong sense of global standards for luxury goods
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Results oriented, self-motivated, dedicated, enthusiastic, and energetic
- Strong problem solving, negotiation, planning, and organizational skills
- Experience with PLM or other Product Management system
- Able to work in a fluid, fast-paced, multi-channel environment
