GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Director of Well-being and Prevention Services, the Well-being Coordinator is responsible for communicating, marketing, planning, delivery, and evaluation of campus activities related to student health, wellness, and prevention education. This position promotes holistic student well-being and develops a campus culture of well-being through strategic campus initiatives, outreach, and collaboration with internal and external partners.
This position is designed to be highly student-centered, with an emphasis on proactive prevention, inclusive wellness practices including a focus on improving at-risk student outcomes, and cross-campus collaboration. Flexibility and creativity are essential in engaging students and cultivating a campus culture of well-being.
This position is up to 18-hour per week and includes occasional evening and weekend hours. This position is approximately 44 weeks with weeks falling from August through May/June.

EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core Responsibilities
- Communicate and market the wide-range of student health, well-being and prevention programs and activities with the goal of shifting student awareness and culture in a transformative manner
- Serves as a prevention and educational arm of the Counseling Center and Health Center.
- Advise and mentor student wellness leaders (SEALS), and assist in the development and support of related student teams and organizations
- Act as a liaison to students, faculty, staff, and campus departments regarding wellness and prevention resources and initiatives
- Represent the department at university events, such as Open Houses and RAMS Rising
- Develop and deliver mindfulness and meditation programs, including workshops and trainings
- Collaborate with campus partners, Athletics, EXP, Title IX/SHAPE, and student clubs to create a unified presentation of campus health, wellness and prevention programming and resources. This may include activities such as yoga, group exercise, intramurals, student club activities (e.g. Dance Club and Snow and Ski Club), sexual health and violence prevention, Fresh Check Day.
- Promote the use of campus and local facilities (e.g., Maple track, Warren Center, local trails, ice arena) to support physical activity and long-term wellness habits
- Coordinate events involving service and comfort animals to support emotional wellbeing
- Evaluate program effectiveness and student engagement using data-informed approaches. Tracks participants and reports data on all programs and activities planned and delivered. Data requirements include reporting on participant demographics, strategies employed, lessons learned, programmatic recommendations, and measures of student-related outcomes (e.g., persistence, retention, health data) achieved by those who engage in sponsored programs versus comparison of non-participants.
- Works with the director to develop and administer surveys or other evaluation/assessment measures as directed.
- Supports the mission and goals of the department as well as the goals and mission of the Counseling and Health centers.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in in Counseling, Public Health, or a related field
- 1-3 years of relevant professional experience in Counseling, Public Health, or a related field
- Experience in health and prevention education
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), web-based platforms, and social media tools
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Experience working with college student groups
- Ability to independently manage time, tasks, and priorities
- Program marketing and promotional experience
- Team-oriented with a collaborative working style
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree in in Counseling, Public Health, or a related field
- Training and certification in wellness, mindfulness, or meditation programming
- Experience working with students in a higher education environment
- Demonstrated leadership and mentorship with student groups
- Experience in statistical analysis and programmatic assessment
Candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese are strongly encouraged to apply.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time non-benefited, contract position, not to exceed 18 hours per week. The scheduled hours are flexible. The minimum pay rate is $35 per hour. This position is externally funded through MA SUCCESS Funding. Ongoing employment is contingent on continued funding.
