What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sheriff Adult Detention Deputy position at Franklin County?
Position Objectives:
Under general supervision of the Detention Supervisor, performs law enforcement duties in accordance with the mission, goals, and objectives of the Sheriff's Office and in compliance with Federal, State, and local laws and statues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
(Adult Detention Deputy 12.00 hr. shifts; must work rotating day, night, weekends and holidays)
Under the supervision of the Detention Supervisor, the employee will be responsible for caring and maintaining security and the well-being of prisoners. This includes:
- supervising inmates
- conducting safety and security inspections
- providing access to health care facilities
- maintaining accurate intake, care and release records, including searches, fingerprinting, photographing, work details, and inmate transport assignments.
Minimum Requirements:
Requirements include:
- Applicant must be over the age of 21
- Applicant must have a valid driver’s license
- Applicant must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Applicant must have a history of being a responsible, reliable, US Citizen
- Applicant must have no prior convictions
- Applicant must have a P.O.S.T. certified peace officer license
- Applicant must be able to pass a physical agility test
- Applicant must be able to pass a report writing and typing test
- Applicant must be able to pass a truth verification test
- Applicant must be able to pass a drug screening
