Regional Financial Controller

The position of Regional Financial Controller for the Americas is based in Harvey, IL. The Regional Financial Controller will report to the Head of Accounting and Finance and will have responsibility to collect, analyze and report on sales, operational and financial data of the 8 operating companies in the Americas.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Act as the liaison between Finance teams and Group Controlling and Accounting in Germany.
• Analyze and release the monthly profit and loss reports for the region.
• Analyze and release of quarterly Balance Sheets and net operating working capital reports for the region.
• Prepare and release reports for group controlling and group accounting purposes, such as capital spending, sustainability, and IT cost reports.
• Reconcile and report on all intercompany transactions and balance sheet positions for the region.
• Support the finance teams in the local companies with analysis of cash management requirements.
• Prepare and review monthly business reviews for Americas Executive Leadership.
• Provide support to the local subsidiaries in their reporting duties, particularly in the preparation and submission of budget and fore-cast files and templates.
• Facilitate/coordinate changes to local reporting systems in order to adhere to global reporting requirements.
• Provide regional support to improve controlling and reporting tools, in close collaboration with Group Controlling.
• Provide regional support for reviewing and improving business processes.
• Active participation and voice in Group finance meetings, including suggesting recommendations for improvements to reporting processes and tools.
• Participate in or lead Region specific projects in the Americas.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. Finance/Accounting is strongly preferred, but other degrees with demonstrated accounting and/or controlling proficiency will be considered.
• Deep understanding of group consolidation and international finance topics such as IFRS/US-GAAP.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP formulas, create/manipulate tables, etc.
• Must have a flexible schedule to accommodate monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication as well as natural leadership skills.
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.

Preferred

• S4/HANA experience strongly preferred.
• US CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
• 5 years accounting experience with responsibilities similar to those listed above.
• Accounting experience in a manufacturing organization, with international subsidiaries.
• Intercultural communication skills to coordinate people and processes across both the North and South American regions as well as counterparts in other World regions.
• Foreign language skills, German and/or Spanish preferred
