What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at G&W Products?
G & W Products is a leader in contract metal manufacturing and fabrication. Founded in 1968, our areas of expertise include metal stamping, laser cutting, fabrication, manual and robotic welding, tool and die work, powder coating and assembly. Our facilities include 170,000 square feet of manufacturing space. We specialize in numerous industries including construction, transportation, energy, and defense. We have an opening for Material Handler to work at our facility in Fairfield, OH.
The Material Handler loads, unloads, and moves materials within the plant and warehouse and has responsibilities related to receiving, shipping, and warehousing. Accurately places stock in racks, organizes and set-up material in assigned areas and moves inventory as needed making sure all has been properly documented in our Plex system.
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for daily movement of materials in an accurate manner.
- Properly enter all material movement into Plex as required.
- Fully capable of operating all entry level warehouse equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jack, wrapper, etc.).
- Support Production with timely delivery of packaging, raw materials, and other related production components as required.
- Load and unload trucks when required.
- Daily housekeeping of the warehouse(s), racks, docks, and trash hoppers.
- Work safely to avoid injury and follow all G&W Products safety requirements
- Daily inspection of all warehouse equipment
- Be productive, work to meet required production rates
- Assists departments that require forklift movements as needed and time complies.
- Assist in the warehouse setup, flow, and efficient usage of space.
- Other duties as assigned
HS Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
- 1 year of Warehouse and material control experience.
- Show proof of obtaining prior forklift certification within last 2 years

Work Environment /Physical Demands:
- Ability to work in an ambient warehouse with seasonal temperature changes.
- Continuous lifting to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to see, walk, hear, talk, read, and write
