What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant position at Gaston County Government?
Gaston County Public Health is committed to protecting, promoting and preserving the health and well-being of all Gaston County residents. This position provides administrative support to the Quality and Innovation Team.The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.
The applicant selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
- Processing and tracking all purchases, travel, and IT service requests and work orders.
- Processing confidential information such as personnel records, employee evaluations, FMLA paperwork and job applications.
- Assisting staff by making purchases with County P-Card.
- Assisting staff in budgeting and tracking expenditures in the County finance system (MUNIS).
- Assisting with planning and implementation of programs, projects and events.
- Assisting with communications work by coordinating creation of newsletters, posting to social media, or making updates to the website.
- Providing support to and substituting for other DHHS Administrative Assistants.
- Taking and preparing meeting minutes as needed.
- Providing assistance with technology (hard or software) to staff.
