What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRN Counselor Technician - Center Township, PA position at Gateway Rehabilitation Center?
Gateway Rehab Centers has an opening for a PRN Counselor Technician position located in our Center Township, PA. You will facilitate programming and assure the integrity of the therapeutic milieu. This position requires mandatory staffing coverage when necessary to provide a safe treatment environment for Gateway residents.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitates discussion groups and activities.
- Monitors patient behavior.
- Conducts handbook orientation.
- Assists patients in completion of patient assessment forms.
- Assists with phone calls to family members/friends and referral sources.
- Assists with crises intervention.
- Transports patients to meetings.
- Documents involvement with patients in progress notes.
- Collects urine and completes paperwork for drug screening as necessary.
- Provides post-discharge contacts/referrals under therapist direction.
- Completes intake paperwork as needed.
- Attends mandatory GRC trainings and in-services.
- Provides coverage in Youth and Young Adult Program.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of 12 step programs and/or addictions preferred/
Basic Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some college
Additional Requirements:
- PA Criminal Background Check
- FBI Clearance
- Childline Clearance
- TB test
- Valid driver's license and favorable driving record required
Work Conditions:
- Favorable working conditions.
- Required to remain awake and alert while on duty.
- Minimal physical demand.
- Moderate mental demands to respond to patients' simultaneous requests.
