Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision from the Facilities Supervisor and/or Manager, the Facilities Technician I performs entry level duties related but not limited to: carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, flooring, air-conditioning and structural work on the Glencroft campus. The Facilities Technician I has wide latitude for independent decisions and exercises discretionary judgment in the day-to-day facility responsibilities. The Facilities Technician I will possess a genuine interest in and concern for geriatric, chronically ill and/or disabled persons. Must be able to fluently communicate in or to take or give direction or guidance in the English language.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Regular attendance is considered an essential function of this position and is necessary for the efficient operation of the business.
Performs entry-level work such as but not limited to: Minor structural repairs, replaces doors, screen doors, installs locks, drywall repairs, windows and cabinets.
Performs entry-level work in the repair but not limited to: Minor repairs of flooring, plumbing, water Heaters, boilers and electrical.
Assist in the development and administration of preventative maintenance procedures.
Responsible for being available for 24-hour emergency and call-out situations.
Establishes a professional working relationship with other staff members, contractors, vendors and residents.
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools common to trade.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Participates in safety meetings and all other safety related functions as required.
Practices safe work habits in accordance with Glencroft and City/State Regulated Safety Policies and Procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To function effectively in this position, the incumbent should possess a high school diploma or GED or an appropriate trade school graduation with proven minimum of one (1) year of experience in the full realm of commercial and residential construction/remodeling techniques and knowledge of but not limited to; electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, roofing, and structural activities. Must possess ability to follow written and oral instructions. Good visual acuity and manual dexterity are essential. Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license.
